My name is Bridgett and I live in the beautiful state of Colorado! The Twisted Fork is a blog that I have created to share my love of food and cooking. I consider cooking one of my hobbies and I love it. I like to share recipes that I create myself, some are old family recipes that have been in the family for years, some given to me from friends, findings in magazine or newspaper clippings or books. Most of the recipes in my collection I have added a new twist to or have taken it from boring and bland to spicy and tasty!
I am originally from Texas and love the food from Texas and Southern Louisiana. I am a proud Cajun descendant from a long line of Cajuns in Louisiana. I grew up eating Gumbo (all kinds), Jambalaya, Etoufees, having tons of Crawfish boils and learning to cook Cajun style from my mother. My grandparents have given me some of the best Cajun recipes. Some of my favorite foods are Cajun, Tex-Mex, Italian, sushi, and anything with seafood in it.
Colorado has brought new challenges to my cooking, higher altitudes effect baking and that has been a tiresome but fun experience.
I hope that you will enjoy my recipes and have fun with them and change them up a bit if you like, and make them your own.
